Redirect your other hosts to your main domain
A site is usually reachable on more than one host: its www and bare forms, and the default address its hosting platform gave it. Each of those should answer with a permanent redirect to the main domain. This check asks the root of the twin, and of any platform host the page itself names, once, without following the answer. A host that serves the page instead of redirecting is a second copy of the site.

Check your site freeWhy it matters
The same site on two hosts splits its search ranking and links between them, and visitors can end up bookmarking or sharing the wrong address.
How to fix
- 1 In your hosting or DNS settings, add a 301 redirect from the other host to your main domain, keeping the path.
- 2 For a platform default host (amplifyapp.com, vercel.app, netlify.app), turn on the platform's option to redirect to your custom domain.
- 3 Keep the canonical link on every page pointing at your main domain.
Common mistakes
- Adding the custom domain on the hosting platform but leaving the default platform address serving the site.
- Serving both www and the bare domain, each with its own certificate, and no redirect between them.
- Using a 302 (temporary) redirect, which search engines may not treat as a move.
How to verify
- 1 Run curl -I on the other host and confirm it answers 301 with a Location on your main domain.
- 2 Search for site:<the other host> and confirm no pages are indexed there.
